At least 8 Cambodians died from road accident in Kompong Thom province Posted: 26 Mar 2011 09:34 PM PDT KAMPONG THOM, CAMBODIA, MARCH 27, 2011-At least 8 Cambodians died and other 10 injured from road accident in Kompong Thom, northern part of Phnom Penh, a police official said on Sunday. "A van hit a tractor in opposite direction. The road accident occurred at 11:38 PM yesterday in Balang commune, Baray district of Kompong Thom province," Hang Thol, military police chief of Kompong Thom province. The tractor loaded the villagers to attend the funeral ceremony of a monk chief in their community and they are from neighboring Chom Kaleu district, Kampong Cham province. The van's driver was in position of careless because the speed's van is too fast," he noted. The seven people died in the scene, he stresses. The Van's driver escaped the scene. In Cambodia, about 4 people died in a day in an average and injured. |
