Thai Troop Continues Digging Bunker at Cambodia-Thai Conflict Border Posted: 04 Mar 2011 04:01 AM PST PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, MARCH 4, 2011-Cambodian military officials said onFriday that Thai soldiers had continued to digging their bunker in front of Trab Mountain nearby Preah Vihear temple. The officials said that Cambodia asked Thai troops not to further dig but they did not listen. In February 22, ASEAN foreign ministers agreed to send Indonesian observers to patrol the conflict border after UN Security Council called on the both sides to stop fighting permanently. The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 1962 ruled that the temple of Preah Vihear, near where the fighting has occurred, belonged to Cambodia. UNESCO listed Preah Vihear as a World Heritage Site in July 2008. |
19 Cambodians Died and 8 Injured from Road Accident at Sihanouk Town Posted: 03 Mar 2011 10:53 PM PST SIHANOUK, CAMBODIA, MARCH 4, 2011-"At least 19 died and 8 seriously injured from road accident at Sihanouk province at one o'clock this afternoon, a Traffic police official of Sihanouk province said on Friday. "A container truck hit a tourist van, which traveled from Takeo Province to Sihanouk province," he said. "Now we are trying to seek identity of the victims and so busy for this work," he added. Sihanoukville is the hub of coastal tourist destination of Cambodia and sea port. In Cambodia, At least four people in average suffered from the road accident each day. Most cases occurred from driving with drunk and not respected to the traffic lights, not wearing helmets. Motorbike drivers are the top row of death toll. |
